Ihave not posted on here for awhile because I don't have the patience to wait on my photos
to load. For some reason they take forever. We are busy getting ready for Christmas. We have caroling and the Christmas program this weekend and some last minute shopping. Hopefully I can finish everything this week and relax next week. Looking forward to having everyone home for Christmas vacation.

Our little miracle turns 1 !!!!
I can hardly believe a year has gone by so fast
This time last year we were anxiously awaiting
the arrival of our little girl. After a very long
and complicated pregnancy, Jenna Michelle
arrived on July 25, around 2:3o pm.
We believe God sent us a little miracle. The
doctors were not sure that our pregnancy would
go to term, but she arrived safely weighing 6 lbs 14 oz.
Her first night at home I awoke around 11:00pm to
find her struggling to breathe. We called 911 and spent
the next 20 minutes until the ambulance arrived trying
to keep her breathing. Needless to say that was probably
to keep her breathing. Needless to say that was probably
the most fearful moment I have ever had.
We spent 3 nights in the hospital while the doctor
tried to figure out what went wrong. They finally sent
her home on medicine for acid reflux and an apnea monitor.
She was on that until she was four months old.
At five weeks Jenna developed a low grade fever. We
took her to the doctor knowing she was probably going
to need blood work. Sure enough we had to go through
the dreaded spinal tap and lots of blood work and what
we thought would be another 3 night stay in the hospital,
but on day 3 her blood work came back showing bacteria
growing in the spinal fluid and she was diagnosed with
bacterial meningitis.
In a daze I heard the doctor saying things like, this can
cause fluid on the brain, retardation, loss of speech, loss of hearing.
and if not caught right away even death. Thankfully we took her
in as soon as we noticed the fever even though it was only 99.5
in as soon as we noticed the fever even though it was only 99.5
at the time. It was over 101 by the time she was admitted.
After 21 days of antibiotics, seven iv's, cat scans, x-rays,
hearing tests and being poked too many times to count we
were finally discharged.
The doctors and nurses told us if hearing loss and mild slowness
was all Jenna had we could consider it a miracle.
We give God all the praise that every test came back normal and
that we have a perfectly healthy, very energetic little girl. She will
always be our little miracle no matter how old she gets!!!

11 Months Old
Jenna is 11 months old and I have to admit she is walking everywhere. She is growing out of the baby stage way too fast for me. We are enjoying her so much. She keeps us laughing with all her cute ways.
Her favorite new words are kitty and sissy. She loves the little kittens and her sisters take her four wheeler riding, so she stands at the door quite a bit waiting for it to open so she can escape to her favorite things!
